In 2012, one of Seattle's iconic craft breweries in the SODO District - Two Beers Brewing Co. - decided to start canning their brews. Around this time, CEO and Co-Founder Joel VandenBrink met Derek Cornwell, a BoxMaker Sales Rep, and began a relationship that would boost both of our local, Northwest businesses toward speedy growth.
This week, we had the chance to catch up with Joel and hear his story:
Once we left our previous box manufacturer, we developed a great relationship with The BoxMaker that has been going strong ever since. Derek is a great partner – he knew that if he kept offering me the products that I needed, I would eventually say yes.
The BoxMaker allows us to be incredibly flexible with our packaging needs. I am yet to present something that Derek deems impossible, and we have dreamt up some very specific designs. Working with Derek and The BoxMaker’s designers, we always get a creative and well thought-through prototype back in a timely manner. We also partner with The BoxMaker for our labels. They’re perfect for quick turnaround and lower minimum orders.
It would be impossible to deliver our packaged beer to the marketplace without corrugated. The corrugated products that The BoxMaker creates for us are just as vital as the can itself, and we view our corrugated products as part of our brand’s overall customer experience.
In 2016, we are going to continue to deliver some of the best beers in the Northwest. You’ll see expanded distribution of our new IPA – Wonderland Trail IPA – throughout the market, as well as a creative new summer seasonal draft – a Mexican lager with lime!
Two Beers Brewing’s Beer To Go serves grocers and retailers all over the Seattle area, including Whole Foods, Central Market, PCC, QFC, Safeway, various bottle shops, and more. Two Beers prides themselves on “using local ingredients and partnering with local companies whenever possible. Whether its hops from Yakima Valley or the label printer down the road, we love knowing we’re supporting our local community and hope you will, too.”
